What (object):

_"Indicator” (widget) to display the physical condition of the immediate space around us

_the Indicator is also useful not only to display information but also to serve as a measuring point, collecting recordable data from the immediate surroundings
_input and output device linked to an information network with ecological data, which is placed in public space

Where (place):

_public space in conurbations (Nagoya)

_stand alone Indicator in one single location or many Indicators spread over different districts

When (scenario):

_everyday life (on a regular basis)

_case of emergency (e.g. smog alert)

_event (e.g. neighbourhood party, earthquake alert trainings)

How (content and context):

_displaying and collecting data

_date, time, temperature (compared to the same period in the previous 1 or 10 years)

_pollen count (service for people with pollen allergy)
_air pollution (fine dust pollution, ozone pollution, greenhouse gas emission)

_water quality, amount of precipitation (rainfall), quality of rainfall (acid rain)

_energy consumption of district (proportion of renewable energy)

_earth activity (earthquake risk, seismometer)

_traffic report (amount of traffic, number of traffic jams), traffic noise
_and much more

What with (technology, material):

_LED screens, light, movement, sound, mobile phone network, internet, WLAN (wireless local area network), …
